OUR STORY
Artspace was formed in 2002 in Scottsdale, Arizona, in order to house various small art galleries, artists and studios under one roof. In the spring of 2008, Davin Lavikka took over Artspace, where he added a commercial photography studio into the mix. Eventually, the gallery was moved to a new space on Marshall Way, which gave Davin the opportunity to change the name to Method Art.
In 2009, Method Art continued in the same tradition set up by Artspace, having artist studios infused with a gallery setting. Davin decided to put more emphasis on local artists, and even added a fine art photography gallery. In this new environment, artists rented studio space and, in turn, Method Art took a much smaller commission than a traditional gallery. The real beauty of Method Art was that it brought some of the top artists in their respective fields to think outside of the box and evolve in a dynamic studio/gallery setting.
In 2015, Davin Lavikka decided to streamline the business, keeping only his core artists and eliminating the gallery side. Method Art Studio was born as a more casual studio space where he and his core group could thrive and create commissioned pieces while still displaying their work.
