Ocean 44 is seafood reinvented in a vibrant upscale atmosphere specializing in world-class seafood and the great steaks we are known for at Steak 44. Different than anything we have done in the past, the atmosphere is second to none, featuring a blend of dining settings ranging from dramatic to intimate. At the core of the Ocean 44 Experience is our chef sourced, highest graded sustainable fresh seafood from around from the world, enhanced with unique and interesting appetizers and side dishes that go beyond the traditional seafood menu.
Located in the location of the former Harkins Camelview Theater at Scottsdale Fashion Square, on Goldwater Boulevard, Ocean 44 brings a vibrant and contemporary atmosphere to the Scottsdale dining scene. The restaurant is a completely new building and the interior decorations have been carefully designed by Testani Design Group. Ocean 44’s dining space is a combination of grand spaces and smaller more intimate spaces for a personalized dining experience and decor that provides our guest with an exciting seaside feel, while keeping our tradition of intimacy and staying true to the upscale vibe.
All of our furniture from dining room tables to our bar stools have been carefully selected to add to the chic ambiance of each dining area. With just shy of 12,000 square feet available, our dining space has been intricately planned to provide an aesthetic for any occasion. Quiet nooks and private dining rooms offer an intimate, romantic settings, while our larger dining areas give large groups and parties a chance to engage in an energetic experience. The restaurant also features an extravagant glass expo kitchen with nearby seating so guests can be apart of the action. With Ocean 44, we have created a vibrant, fashionable atmosphere that emulates an airy coastal feel, right here in Arizona.
Our dining room features a large lively bar where guests can enjoy a taste of something from our extensive wine and Scotch list and two dining bars. Ocean 44’s menu is composed of incredibly fresh seafood options, some of which will be cooked in our custom-made, wood-fired oven set forth in our on-stage kitchen and right next to our 18-foot raw bar. Chef Siegfried Hohaus’s culinary team can be seen preparing selections from our expansive raw bar, fresh seafood menu, and prime-grade steak menu, turning a night out into an unforgettable performance.
After years of learning from our guests, we chose to build Ocean 44 on the core foundation of kindness, consideration and true hospitality. Our guests can go anywhere they want for dinner and when they choose us that is a compliment that we do not take for granted.

Before indulging in one of our perfectly prepared seafood options, whet your appetite with a generous selection from our appetizer menu. Try our Butter and Chardonnay Steamed Mussels, Heirloom Tomato Crab and Avocado Stack, or Fresh Wood-Roasted Oysters. While we pride ourselves on serving the highest graded sustainable fresh seafood from around the world, we will still be featuring many of our mouth-watering prime-grade steaks that Steak 44 and Dominick’s Steakhouse have become famous for serving. Our open kitchen features a raw bar which is on display for all of our guests to view and order from, including fresh shucked oysters from the West and East Coasts. Ample dish selections will be served a la carte, allowing each guest to personalize their dining experience and giving them the rare opportunity to enjoy multiple flavor profiles throughout their night. We want to give our diners what they want by enabling them to sample more items while visiting Ocean 44.
When brothers Jeffrey and Michael Mastro, their father Dennis and partner Scott Trolio established Ocean 44 in 2018, they sought to create a unique seafood restaurant, with interesting appetizers and side dish selections that went beyond the traditional seafood menu. They are now reinventing the industry with the highest grade of sustainable fresh seafood from around the world. Seafood is apart of the Mastro heritage and they have traveled the country developing the Ocean 44 menu, which will include some of the greatest items from their travels. The group currently owns several fine-dining steakhouses that feature many fresh seafood offerings including, Dominick’s Steakhouse and Steak 44 in Phoenix, AZ, Steak 48 in Chicago, IL and Steak 48 in Houston, TX.

Although the restaurant ambiance is warm and pleasant the meal and service were extremely disappointing. We started with the Wagyu Beef Tartare and the best part of this appetizer was the soft bread. Moving on the Chilean Sea Bass, a horrible cut that tasted like dry cardboard. My wife was excited for the NY Strip, but again they missed the mark completely… it came out dry, overcooked, tough and cold. They completely missed the boat on this restaurant. When you spend that kind of $$$$$, I expect a specific level of service and quality, it is clearly missing from this restaurant.
