The Scottsdale Historical Museum, in the Little Red Schoolhouse (1909), chronicles the city’s history with photographs, artifacts, and changing displays. Group tours, speakers available. The Schoolhouse is closed Monday and Tuesday all year, on holidays, and in July and August. During the months of June and September The Little Red Schoolhouse and Historical Society will have shorter hours: Wednesday through Saturday: 10am until 2pm; Sunday: 12pm until 4pm. Regular hours will resume in October.
The Scottsdale Historical Museum has been located in the historic Little Red Schoolhouse since 1991. The school, called Scottsdale Grammar School, opened as a 2-room school in January, 1910. It was a 1st through 8th grade school until 1928.
