The concept for Vivo was born after Tomaso Maggiore, a pioneer ofItalian cuisine in the U.S., met the Menta brothers of Sicily, well-known Sicilian extra virgin olive entrepreneurs and ardent promoters of the local food and wine resources. Together they vowed to create the most authentic Italian experience with an emphasis on high quality, hand-made foods.
As an Italian native and culinary expert, Chef Tomaso Maggiore’s mission has always been to address historically Italian customs and provide them their own identity in America; recognizing the centuries old relationship that America has with Italy and the vibrant Italian-American culture here. Through his frequent travels to Italy, Tomaso continues to create a fresh approach to authentic Italian cuisine by using only the finest ingredients, innovative recipes and the latest techniques; the true essence of Italy in every bite.
