The Maya Condominiums – 2 Bedrooms & 2 Bathrooms

The Maya is a mature adult community, not geared towards families or children.

Renovated in 2014, this unit will accommodate six comfortably. Although we are not on-site, we have a property manager, Todd Navin, who is local and coordinates everything from the initial meet-and-greet to addressing any questions or issues you may have during your stay. If you require transportation arranged to/from the airport, Todd will arrange that as well.

Living/Dining Area with dedicated Work Station

The living room has a 55-inch LED Smart TV, a sound bar, a Panasonic CD/iPod/FM sound system, a sectional sofa with ottoman for extra seating and a rocker/recliner that easily makes comfortable conversation among six people. There is an electric fireplace operated by a remote control that’s just perfect for a ‘chilly’ winter night or after a hot tub. Cable and high-speed wireless internet are included. There is a wine fridge with a small bar area.

To the left of the entertainment area, there is a workstation for your laptop or to spread out your paperwork. The computer area has sundry items such as pens, pencils, highlighters, eraser, scissors, a calculator, stapler, tape, paperclips, a hole punch, paper shredder, and a wireless laser printer.

The dining table is bar height and set up for four people, but has a pop-up leaf to expand and accommodate six. There are six bar-height chairs, two of which normally sit at the breakfast nook, and are moved to the table when entertaining a full house.

Kitchen

The kitchen is well-appointed with dishes and cutlery, serving pieces, and all the standard small appliances including a digital rice/vegetable steamer, blender, electric kettle, griddle with warming tray, electric can opener, mixing bowls, measuring cups, baking sheets, et cetera. Conveniences also include a Keurig one-cup system and a 12-cup coffee maker to suit either preference.

For your first morning, you will find K-cups (coffee and/or tea) for each visitor; we provide CoffeeMate non-dairy creamer and packets of cane sugar. If you prefer milk or cream or a sugar substitute, you’ll want to stop at Sprout’s across the road or Fry’s at Indian School Road and Miller on your way to the unit. Salt and pepper are also always included, as well as dish-washing liquid and dishwasher tabs (2). The kitchen is also stocked with a limited supply of the following: tin foil, plastic wrap, cooking oil, and cooking spray. Please appreciate that these sundry items are here as a courtesy and convenience, and only meant to get you started; not to last your entire stay.

The kitchen works well for a couple over the long-term; but for a group, I think that a week is enough for a kitchen this size.

Bedrooms

The master suite has an extremely comfortable king-size bed; the guest suite has two double beds. Each bedroom has a private bathroom, a 50-inch LED Smart TV with Netflix, and Sony iPhone clocks/docking stations. Each bathroom has a towel-warmer, hair dryer, and curling iron; bed linens, bathing and pool towels are supplied. Please ensure that only the polka dot towels are taken to the pool or spa. The white linens are strictly for use in-house. The master ensuite is a three-piece and the shower has a bench. The guest ensuite has a large vanity area with the tub and toilet separated by a door. We opted for a single sink in the guest vanity area believing that more guests meant more toiletries to be spread out. All of the beds have hypoallergenic mattress pads, and each pillow has a pillow cover under the pillow cases. The unit is cleaned just before your arrival, including fresh linens. If you desire additional housekeeping services during your stay, Todd can arrange this for you and you pay the housekeeper directly.

For your convenience, we have Boca Terry robes (one-size fits all). We appreciate that you’ll need to use them at the hot tub, but ask that you make every effort to prevent them from getting stained so that normal washing will keep them fresh for the next guest. Unreasonable stains or damage must be addressed.

Please note, we have been disappointed by the number of face cloths and hand towels that have been ruined by mascara, face make-up, and other inappropriate uses. Each bathroom is supplied with a 30-pack of pre-moistened facial cleanser tissues as well as two dark facecloths. If you wear make-up and do not have your own cleanser/remover pads, please use these. We regret that face cloths and towels that are damaged will be deducted from the $500 damage deposit at cost.

Patio

The fenced ground-floor patio has an automatic screen and a security door which is operated by controls on the wall inside the unit; the patio is furnished with four comfortable chairs, each with their own ottoman which slides out from under the seat, as well as with two sun loungers should you wish to lay in the sun in private rather than by the heated pool, which is about a one-minute walk from our unit. There is a side gate that provides quick access to the hot tub area which is only about 75 feet away. We have new patio doors installed. The configuration is a center-opening with two doors that gives a six-foot entry, almost making the patio part of the living area itself. These doors are easy to open and close, but you will never want to close them.

The patio also has a wall-mounted fireplace which is operated by remote control or manual switch on the top right-hand corner. Settings include low heat, high heat, just visual, and of course off. The addition of the fireplace on the patio makes this a complete extra room year-round, no matter how chilly an evening may become. Put the roller shade down and you can enjoy it all evening. We have also added a bike stand that will store two bicycles; however, you will need to bring your own locks/chain (and bikes…rentals available in the plaza across the street).

Laundry

There are common laundry rooms about a minute-and-a-half away on the second, third floor, and fourth floors. You’ll need to take the elevator for the third and fourth floors; you take the stairs for the second-floor laundry. MacGray has just installed new machines, including a high-efficiency front-loader. Two Tide laundry tabs are provided for your convenience. You will find these in the hallway closet. There is also a broom, dustpan, vacuum, Shark steam mop, bucket and mop, as well as cleaning products if you need them. A wash is $1.25 and the dryer is 75 cents. You also now have the option of using quarters or swiping your debit card.

Sundries

We also provide liquid hand soap, air freshener (spray in bathrooms and Renuzit gel-type stocked in linen closet), four rolls of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, and a basic first-aid kit. We ask that you let us know if you have used anything from the first-aid kit so that we can replenish it after you’ve left.

Common Areas

In the pool common area, you have the use of bar-b-ques, a ping-pong table, as well as the pool and spa of course. We include plastic wine and drinking glasses for use when outside the condo-proper. Glass is not permitted in the common areas and we ask that you respect this policy. Your common key also gives you access to the clubhouse (open from 5 am to 11 pm), where you will find the fitness room and a pool table upstairs and the cardio room on the main level.

Area Information

You will find Sprouts Food Market within an easy (2-minute) walk, just across Miller Avenue; as well, there is a Bread Basket bakery and several restaurants and a sports bar in that same plaza. There is a Fry’s Grocery on Miller at Indian Road, about a mile south on Miller. Turn left out of the driveway. And there’s a CVS Pharmacy across from Fry’s.

Cab rides are very inexpensive if you don’t want to walk, and the golf-cart shuttles are always available for the trip home. The Miller Road Trolley stops mere steps from our driveway and their phone number and schedule is in an information binder provided in the unit. The Maya Condominium is very close to the Entertainment and Fashion Districts. It is a wonderful community with many activities going on where you will make friends, or you can keep to yourself as you wish.

There are many golf courses nearby, car races, spring training, hiking, and walking trails. And there’s shopping, lots and lots of shopping to do with Fashion Square so close by.

Please Note:

Our standard check-out time is 10 am. This allows staff an opportunity to thoroughly clean the unit before the next visitor, particularly if someone is arriving later the same day or the next day. If possible, we will accommodate late check-out at a rate of $25US per three hours or part thereof. This must be pre-arranged, preferably at the time of your initial booking.

I have tried to give you all the information that I can think of, but if there’s anything else that you need to know, please don’t hesitate to ask. We hope to see you soon.
